What makes AD safari different from Dubai

Dubai's standard desert safari runs to a single camp on the Lahbab corridor — well-organised, well-equipped, with three or four large operators rotating capacity through it. AD safari runs further south to Liwa or further still to the Empty Quarter (Rub al Khali). The dunes are taller. The camps are smaller. The night sky is darker because there is less city light pollution. The drive itself takes longer — but the experience is qualitatively different, not just a longer version of the Dubai safari.

AD safari variants we coordinate

• Half-day Al Khatim safari — closer to AD city, shorter day, light dune-bashing + camel intro
• Full-day Liwa safari — deeper into the south, includes dune-bashing run, Bedouin-style camp lunch, sandboarding
• Empty Quarter overnight — single overnight at a desert resort or partner camp, day-2 deep dune drive
• Multi-day Empty Quarter expedition — quoted as a custom multi-day package only

Camp partner notes

The AD-side camp is run by a separate partner from the Dubai default. The food is different (more Emirati-leaning menu, less buffet-international), the entertainment is quieter (less tanoura performance, more star-watching and oud), and the camp footprint is smaller. None of that is a downgrade — it's a different product. Some guests prefer the Dubai camp's variety; others prefer the AD camp's stillness. We tell you both options at quote time so you pick the camp that matches the rest of your trip.

What's included in a full-day Liwa safari

• Hotel pickup in Dubai or AD
• Cross-emirate transfer (90 to 150 minutes depending on route)
• 4x4 dune-bashing run in Liwa with experienced safari driver
• Camel intro stop on the route
• Sandboarding at a softer dune face
• Bedouin-style camp arrival, traditional welcome (Arabic coffee + dates)
• BBQ buffet or Emirati-menu dinner depending on partner-camp arrangement
• Optional henna, shisha (cash-bar at camp), light entertainment
• Return transfer to Dubai or AD hotel after dinner

What we do not promise on AD safari

We do not promise specific camp performers (lineup is the partner's call). We do not promise Empty Quarter access on a half-day — distance does not permit it. We do not promise a flexible departure time: the day's logistics need a fixed start so the convoy reaches the staging area while sand condition is still right. We do not run blanket 'best price guarantees' or fake countdown timers — the quote is the quote.
