Accessibility Statement

WCAG 2.1 AA target. Contact us for accessibility requests. Mobility-related notes for desert tours.

Web accessibility

We target WCAG 2.1 AA compliance on the Al Jazeera Tours website. The site is designed with semantic HTML, keyboard navigation support, alt text on images, sufficient colour contrast, and screen-reader friendly markup. We test on common screen readers and run automated accessibility checks before each release. If you find a barrier on this site, email [email protected] with the page URL and a brief description; we'll work on a fix and respond with a timeline.

Mobility-related desert tours

Not every desert experience suits every mobility profile. The dune buggy and quad bike require independent mounting, harness operation, and balance — not currently suitable for guests with significant mobility limits. The desert safari (4x4 passenger) and the camel ride (assisted mounting) are more accessible — the safari especially because the 4x4 is air-conditioned, the camp has bench seating, and the dune-bashing portion can be skipped on request. The hot air balloon is variable; the basket has a step-in entry that requires reasonable mobility. If you have specific mobility needs, message us on WhatsApp before booking — we'll match you to the most workable option and confirm what's realistic.

Accessibility quick reference

  • Most accessible: desert safari (4x4 passenger, gentle pace option)
  • Moderately accessible: camel ride (assisted mounting)
  • Less accessible: hot air balloon (basket step-in)
  • Least accessible: dune buggy, quad biking, dirt biking (independent operation required)
  • Wheelchair access in pickup vehicle: discuss case-by-case
  • Hearing-impaired guides: ask in advance, we'll arrange written briefing where possible
  • Visual-impairment accommodations: discuss case-by-case

Office accessibility

The DAMAC Smart Heights office is accessible via lift to G Floor; the building has wheelchair-accessible parking. The desert staging areas are open soft sand and not wheelchair-friendly during active operations; if you need to visit a staging area, mention at booking and we'll arrange.

Feedback

We'd rather hear from you about an accessibility barrier than have you give up on the site or the experience. WhatsApp +971 52 440 9525 or email [email protected] — both go to a human, not a bot.
