Why RAK tours are quote-based

Ras Al Khaimah is the most varied terrain in the UAE adventure-tour market. The desert side runs into the Hajar mountain foothills, with Wadi Shawka offering a wadi-bashing line that no Dubai zone can match, and Jebel Jais sitting north of the activity area for a high-altitude plateau view. None of that fits a fixed price card. A booking that includes wadi-bashing is priced differently from a pure dune-buggy booking, and a multi-stop day that ends at Jebel Jais costs differently again. So we run RAK on a quote model — you tell us the shape of the day, we tell you the price.

What you get back

Within working hours we reply with: a written itinerary draft showing the day's time blocks (transfer → desert run → wadi optional → lunch → Jebel Jais optional → return), a transfer plan with vehicle type and pickup window, partner camp confirmation if a meal stop is included, and the total quote in AED. The quote shows transfer cost, activity cost, wadi-bashing premium if requested, and meal cost as separate lines. Quote is valid for 7 days. Confirmation locks vehicle, plate and lead guide for your slot.

Three common RAK shapes

• Half-day desert from Dubai — pickup ~07:00, transfer to RAK desert (75-90 min from Marina/JBR), 2-3 hours buggy or quad, return to Dubai by 13:00. Cheapest RAK option.
• Full-day desert + wadi — pickup ~07:00, desert morning, wadi-bashing in Wadi Shawka after lunch, return ~18:00. Wadi premium added because wadi terrain requires specific 4x4 setup.
• RAK overnight or multi-day — partner-camp overnight, day-2 Jebel Jais drive plus optional zip-line viewpoint stop. Premium routing; quote includes camp accommodation.

Cross-emirate transfer notes

Transfer from Dubai to RAK desert area is 75-90 minutes from Marina/JBR/Downtown, 90-110 minutes from Deira/Bur Dubai. Northern emirate roads are well-maintained but Friday/Saturday peak traffic can add 20-30 minutes. We schedule pickup early enough to land at the staging area with the morning light still soft. Return is included in the quote. If you're already in RAK or northern Sharjah we can collect locally — the transfer line on your quote is removed and the total drops accordingly.

Wadi Shawka and Jebel Jais — what you need to know

Wadi Shawka is a wadi-bashing route through a Hajar valley with rock pools and shallow water crossings. It needs a high-clearance 4x4 with the right tyre setup. Not every Dubai-style desert vehicle handles wadi terrain — we run a separate vehicle setup for wadi days. The wadi premium on the quote covers vehicle prep and the slower pace required. Jebel Jais is a high-altitude plateau drive — sealed road, no off-road needed, but worth it for the temperature drop and the viewpoint photography. We add Jebel Jais only as a stop on a full-day RAK booking, not as a standalone.

What we don't promise

We don't promise a fixed price before reviewing your parameters. We don't promise wadi access in heavy rain or right after rain — wadi-bashing is weather-dependent and we'll reroute to desert-only if conditions are unsafe. We don't promise the Jebel Jais zip-line — that's a third-party operator with separate booking, we can only recommend it. We don't run blanket multi-tour discount bundles on RAK because route mix changes too much.
