Why pick the 2-seater

The 2-seater 1000cc is the lightest buggy in the fleet, which means two practical advantages on Dubai dunes. First, it turns and recovers faster than the 4-seater, so first-time off-roaders rarely get stuck for more than 30 seconds. Second, it sits at the lowest price tier — AED 300 for the 30-minute slot — so two friends or a couple can ride two separate buggies for less than the cost of one 4-seater. The trade-off is room: it is two adult bucket seats, a center console and very little cargo space. If you are bringing a small child or three friends, look at the 4-seater instead.

Who books the 2-seater

• Couples on holiday in Dubai who want a side-by-side experience without sharing the buggy with strangers.
• Two friends travelling together — usually they book two 2-seaters and ride in convoy with one as driver, swapping for the second half.
• Solo travellers — yes, you can book a 2-seater for one person; the second seat just stays empty.

• First-time off-roaders. The 2-seater is the easiest buggy to learn on — the lighter weight forgives steering errors that would bury a 4-seater in soft sand.

Driver and passenger — who gets the wheel?

Only the left-hand seat (in a left-hand-drive buggy) has full driving controls. The right-hand seat is a true passenger seat with the same harness, the same helmet and the same view, but no pedals and no wheel. Couples usually decide in advance who drives the first half and who drives the second; if you tell the lead guide before the briefing, we will pause the convoy at the photo stop so you can swap seats. If only one of you holds a driving licence, the licensed person should plan to drive the full slot — the briefing team will check at the staging point.

Sunset 2-seater — best slot for couples

The 2-seater works especially well in the sunset slot because the lighter buggy is more responsive on the long descents and the photos at golden hour are some of the most-shared images from any of our tours. Pickup for the sunset slot moves week-by-week — earlier in summer (around 4:30–5:00 PM in May), later in winter (around 3:30–4:00 PM in December). The booking confirmation always carries the right time for your specific date.

How the 2-seater compares to the 4-seater on price and feel

On price, the 2-seater is AED 300 vs AED 800 for the 4-seater 1000cc — about 60% less per booking. On feel, the 2-seater is more agile, sits lower, and turns into a soft-sand bowl with less throttle. The 4-seater has more rear weight and tracks straighter at speed, which families with kids tend to prefer. If you are a couple with no children, the 2-seater is almost always the better pick. If you are a family of four, book the 4-seater; if you are six riders total, book the 2-seater plus the 4-seater so everyone has their own seat.

Practical booking tips for 2-seater riders

• Bring closed-toe shoes for both rider and passenger — flip-flops will be turned away at the briefing.
• Sunglasses are useful in the transfer car but not needed during the ride (helmet has goggles).
• If both of you want to drive at some point during the slot, mention it on the WhatsApp before booking and at the briefing on the day.
• If one of you is camera-shy, book the standard 30-minute slot; the photographer add-on is opt-in only.
