What 'guided tour' means on our quad rides

A guided quad tour is a convoy with a lead guide on a separate vehicle and you riding your own ATV in line. The guide picks the safe route, sets the speed, and stops the convoy at scheduled photo points. There is no rental-only option where you take a quad alone into the open desert; every quad ride is guided. This is deliberate — Lahbab dunes are unmarked, visibility shifts with the weather, and the recovery routine if a quad stalls or buries works only if a lead is there. The guided model is what makes a quad rental safe in Dubai.

What's on the tour

• Hotel pickup from most Dubai zones (35-60 min transfer to staging area).
• Briefing — throttle, brake, body position, convoy spacing, recovery routine.
• Open-desert convoy line led by an experienced guide.
• Two scheduled photo stops on a 1-hour ride; one stop on a 30-minute ride.
• Helmet, goggles, gloves and water at every stop.
• Return ride and drop-off at your hotel.

Tour duration options

• 30-minute tour: closest dunes, one short loop, one photo stop. Best for layover travellers and first-timers.
• 1-hour tour: longer loop with 2-3 dune ridges and a longer photo stop. Most popular slot.
• 2-hour tour: extended route with multiple photo stops and varied terrain. For experienced riders.
• All durations include the same briefing, gear, and pickup — only the on-quad time changes.

Photo stops on the convoy tour

The lead guide picks photo-stop locations based on the day's light, the dune shape, and convoy size. Standard stops are: a high dune crest looking back toward Dubai for the cityscape silhouette; a clean flat sand bowl for solo hero shots with the quad in motion; and a sunset-line ridge for the golden-hour photo if the slot is timed correctly. We do not charge a fee per photo — the photographer add-on is opt-in only. Bring your own phone or GoPro and the lead guide will pause for personal shots at every stop.
