How the resident discount works
If you live in the UAE and hold a valid Emirates ID, you can ask for the resident rate when booking on WhatsApp. The booking team flags your booking as resident-rate, and you show your Emirates ID at the staging area before vehicle release. The discount applies to the booking confirmed for the EID holder — not transferable to other riders unless they also hold UAE EID. The exact discount percentage is signed off internally before publication; we do not advertise a specific number publicly until it is locked because publishing a fake percentage is exactly the kind of bait-and-switch we work to avoid.
Who qualifies
- UAE citizens with valid Emirates ID
- UAE residents with valid Emirates ID (any visa class)
- Dependents on a resident's EID — when the booking is in the EID holder's name
- Corporate riders booking through their employer — corporate rate applies instead, /corporate-rates/
Who does not qualify
- Tourists / visitors on tourist visa (use combo savings or seasonal offers instead)
- Expired Emirates ID — must be renewed before discount applies
- EID-holder shares the rate with non-EID riders in the same group — discount applies to EID-holder portion only
- Bookings claiming resident rate without producing the EID at the staging area — discount is reversed and standard rate applies
What we ask for at the staging area
Original Emirates ID — physical card or UAE PASS app screenshot. We do not photocopy the EID, we do not store EID numbers in our records, and we do not share the EID number with any third party. The check is purely visual confirmation that the booking name matches a valid current EID. The whole verification step takes about 30 seconds at sign-in.
Why we run an EID check
The resident discount exists for residents — that's the whole point. Operators that advertise 'resident discount' to tourists are running fake promo math: nobody is actually paying the higher rate, the discount is the real rate. We don't do that. The standard rate is the standard rate; the resident rate is genuinely lower; the EID check confirms eligibility. This means the discount is meaningful to actual UAE residents and the standard published rates are not inflated to make the resident rate look like a deal.
