Why couples book the buggy
A buggy ride works for couples because of two specific things. First, it is one of the few Dubai desert experiences where you sit shoulder-to-shoulder in a private vehicle — not in a 6-person 4x4 with strangers. The 2-seater 1000cc holds exactly two people. Second, the photo set comes back differently from any other tour: the dune crest stop gives you 5–10 minutes off the buggy with the sun behind you, and the convoy waits — no rush. For an anniversary, proposal, honeymoon, or a 'first big trip together' moment, the sunset 2-seater buggy delivers the strongest single experience in our fleet.
Couples-specific options we offer
- Sunset slot — pickup timed so you reach the dune crest at golden hour. Most-photographed slot of the day.
- 2-seater 1000cc as the default — agile, lower-priced, easier to learn on if it's your first buggy.
- Can-Am Maverick X3 upgrade — sportier feel, premium harnesses, photo set looks more dramatic. AED 999 vs AED 300 base.
- Driver-passenger swap at the photo stop — both of you drive part of the slot.
- Optional photographer add-on — opt-in only, no compulsory fee. Mention on WhatsApp.
- Pair with the Couples Desert Package combo — buggy first, then private camp table for dinner. One pickup, full evening.
Proposal and anniversary rides — what to mention on WhatsApp
We don't bundle a 'proposal package' because every proposal is different and we'd rather plan it on a private message than push you into a one-size template. What we can do: pause the convoy at the photo stop for a private moment (no convoy lights or traffic in your background), arrange a champagne toast at the staging area with prior notice (BYO bottle is fine — we don't sell alcohol), or coordinate a photographer to capture the moment without your partner knowing. If you mention 'proposal' or 'anniversary' on the WhatsApp booking message, we'll handle the logistics quietly so the surprise stays a surprise.
Private convoy vs shared convoy for couples
A standard sunset slot is a shared convoy — your 2-seater rides with 1–4 other buggies in the same line, all following the same lead guide. A private convoy means your buggy rides alone with a dedicated lead guide, and no other guests in the line. Private convoys cost more (quote on WhatsApp), require advance booking, and are usually only available outside peak season. Most couples book the standard shared convoy and find it private enough — the convoy is small, the photo stops are spaced out, and you spend most of the ride looking forward at red sand, not at other buggies.
What couples should bring
- Sunglasses for the transfer (helmet has goggles for the ride).
- A phone with photo storage cleared — 100+ photos at sunset is normal.
- A light jacket for the return drive in winter.
- If you're doing the camp dinner combo afterwards, bring a smart-casual change of clothes for the camp.
- If you're proposing, the ring stays in a zipped pocket or with the lead guide before the ride. Loose pockets at speed = lost rings.
